Clifton Beach is a quiet lovely beach with an excellent shady path to allow walking amongst the trees. Unfortunately there was only one restaurant/cafe but given the proximity to Palm Cove and Trinity beach this was not a drawback.

Pretty quiet, my kind of place, yet close to everything I need, restaurants, the Italian is great,Trinity Beach Sports Club, supermarket. The beach is just down the road. Unfortunately some knob is building a multi story apartment block, not required in this quiet backwater and too many already. Palm Cove is for the rage all night spew all day set.

The accommodation management company responded quickly to our request and were very professional. The apartment was spacious and comfortable although a little dated. The shower was small and the bathroom could be updated. It was located in a quiet area on the beach which was lovely. There weren’t many cafes around and a bit of a walk to the supermarket. A car would be recommended.

Clifton Beach is a lovely quiet suburb on the beach about 20mins drive from Cairns. Very relaxing. There was one local restaurant near the beach which was very good. A local shopping centre with some restaurants with take-away options and a supermarket for shopping is located in Clifton Beach on the highway too. Palm Cove with more restaurants is located 3km away and can you easily walk there along the bicycle path. There is a local bus service which goes from Palm Cove to Clifton Beach and then to Cairns. A car however is really a lot more convenient to travel to Cairns and see the sites.

Maz and Alan of South Pacific Bed and breakfast were wonderful hosts , accommodating, friendly warm and extremely helpful. They made our stay a complete delight on all fronts . Their advice on food , places to visit was so accurate. Alan's frog conservation programme was fascinating interesting and educational . The breakfast was wonderful with Maz taking so much trouble to source the right food and fruit.

8 This is a living area.
This is a living area. There is only one restaurant within walking distance but a shopping complex five minutes drive away on the main highway. We loved the peace and tranquillity, and the views: and also looked at the other three villages adjacent. Only Palm Cove could be considered a resort but in fact there was little shopping opportunities there either, despite what they say. A plethora of beachside accommodation and lots of restaurants. The beach was much better than Clifton Beach. A lovely area within easy reach of Cairns, but also going north to Port Douglas, the Mossman Gorge and the Daintree.
