The hotel on 4 nebo road called cool plams likes to assume that all people do drugs had started to say there was residue on the floors but then said they cant take photos of a smell but if there was residue on the floor u could have taken photos of it then proceeded to try and take $150 off my partner bank account

plenty to see and do, depending on individual tastes. Queens Park is great for kids to let off steam and is free. the marina has amazing food and vibe. everyone i met was friendly and helpful, Mackay has a laid back country town feel for a city.

8 After Saturday night their were few places open for dinner...
After Saturday night their were few places open for dinner on Sunday, even though some places were advertised both on local media. Only some places that were contacted for bookings were obliging. Getting around i found that if you could walk there it was best otherwise the local taxi network was the best way to move.(Very helpful). The local bus network was to hard to use on the weekend it operated to a reduced times and no stops were located close by to where the motel was located. No bus network operated on Sunday.

2 Mackay is a dump.
Mackay is a dump. Thi is a very old cabins with ghastly interior design. I could smell the room from outside-smoky,stuffy dirty. Woken at mid Ute to very loud party in camp kitchen. Woken at 3 by bangs and crashes in next cabin. Afraid for our safety. Nowhere to eat in town after5 pm. Slept very little for fear of car being broken into and safety.

I was travelling through Mackay and took the opportunity to catch up with some of my Mackay family and we had a good meal at the Shamrock Hotel a couple of hundred metres up the road. It is easy to get around Mackay if you have your own transportation.

Weather was great, river winding through the city and great shopping at canelands.lots of eateries and good public transport.taxi service is well run and the airport is very close to city so about 20 dollars to get there

We have stayed in various motels in Nebo Road, Mackay, and in our opinion this is the best motel to stay at. The rooms are a good size, parking spaces are usually available outside your room and are and big enough to park larger vehicles, the facilities in the room are good and it is nice and quiet. The designated smoking area is set up in the centre of the car park and therefore not outside any rooms. The receptionist was helpful when we had to add another night to our booking at short notice.

We travel from Airlie Beach to Mackay 3 or 4 times a year, we will always book Mackay Oceanside Central Hotel now we've found it. Very clean and bright modern rooms. Very comfortable beds/pillows. Room service meals are fantastic. Nice and close to town, just a couple of minutes drive to shops etc, but not on busy streets as most of the similar priced motels. Looking forward to using the pool next time when we go in summer!

This is one of our regular properties to stay when we work in Mackay. It's well located within Mackay and close to where we need to be. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have everything you need for a 1 or 2 night stay. The internet is great. And if you want to swim, there is a pool and a nice big open area of gardens. I always have a comfortable sleep on the beds. Overall it's a good property to stay.

Fab hotel. Booked this last minute and was not disappointed. All staff were fantastic & couldn't of done any more for me. Meal was lovely and was handy having the laundry facility there. Mackay wasn't on my intinary to stop but the staff made this an enjoyable stay, and took away from the stress of not being able to reach my original destination of Airlie Beach due to road closures and weather conditions.

Our stay for two nights was so comfortable. Lisa was so helpful and even upgraded our room (at no extra cost). The bed was so lovely and the little touches, such as the two tooth brushes, bottled water and a razor was more than expected. Our large car fitted so perfectly right outside our room with ample space to open the car doors. I will definitely be booking in here, when I next visit Mackay.

Near the airport, Coral Cay was easy to get to and in an ideal location. The hotel was stunning, surrounded by palm trees and a relaxing pool. The bed was so comfy (especially after 2 days of travelling from England) and the shower was so warm with high pressure. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks for having me, especially over the Easter weekend.

Great quality accommodation in the centre of Mackay. Close to everything. Comfy bed, great spa bath, big bathroom. The hotel was full but we didn’t hear neighbours. Big parking at the front, so no problem with that. Pity we didn’t try the restaurant.

Cleanliness was top notch! Staff were amazingly friendly and couldn’t do more for us! I would stay here again next time I visit Mackay as checkin was easy and so was checkout… and it was lovely and quite considering it was so close to the airport.
