Wonderful short stay, the Steavensons Falls (at night) a must and Bruno’s Sculpture display a definite must do allowing twice the time you think you you will need is an absolute must - this place is world class! The ELKana Lodge was delightful and luxurious to stay! Picturesque townscape and friendly shops, great food and huge shout out to the community resilience for bouncing back after 2099 disaster - the entire town should be proud!

Quaint village. Best to see in spring or autumn. Expensive for groceries but good bakery. Steavenson Falls spectacular - floodlit until 11pm at night. A bit of the drive along a scenic but hazardous road to get to Yarra Valley wineries and tourist sites

10 Marysville is a charming little town, small but cosy.
Marysville is a charming little town, small but cosy. Very good places to have breakfast. There are shops for renting snow equipment and chains (if the weather warrants it) Lake Mountain is only a 20 minute drive away. The only thing is that the mobile phone reception is bad and there is no internet or wifi. Pro Tip: The information centre has a wifi network which you can borrow to set up your maps or check routes on your phone.

10 Beautiful spot close to Melbourne but a world away.
Beautiful spot close to Melbourne but a world away. Tall trees and mountains, cool forests, tree ferns and waterfalls. There is snow close by, although not this year, unseasonably warm weather it seems. Some of the tracks e.g. Acheron Way to Warburton closed - perhaps this is just seasonal. Plenty of interesting drives and picnic spots nearby and walking trails for the energetic

Enjoyed the small, friendly cafes and shopping at the supermarket and other shops. Can never predict how much snow will fall on the XC skiing trails nor how long it will be skiable. Appreciate the Senior rate for entry to the park. Be sure to book and pay for park entry a day or longer in advance, as waiting to pay on the day is risky and more expensive.
