Olinda has great gardens to explore Cloud Hill cost $12 to visit and Rhodendrum gardens free of Charge. Nice cafes and gift shops to wonder through. Restaurant include Dudley's and Olinda Tea Rooms both are very good.

We loved the shops in Olinda and Sassafras just down the road. Easy walking, sitting in the sun at Dudley’s having a wine was relaxing. The trees and the beautiful Dandenong botanical gardens were amazing. It is like a little haven just out of Melbourne, all the people working in shops are so friendly it is just such an awesome little town. Because it is so incredible it is getting really busy on weekends.

The townships of Sassafras and Olinda offer many quirky and artistic shopping and dining experiences. Alternatively you can have a typical aussie bush experience. The many massive gardens in the area are a must. The Alfred Nicholas Gardens are great any time and the Botanic gardens rhododendrens are sensational in season. The area along the Tourist road and out to Kallista is beautiful. I highly recommend a visit to this area.

The place was picked by the photos and they were out if date . The spa wasn't the same as the picture. And my wife is a invalid so the spa was very difficult to use for her as the height was very dangerous. It clearly isn't the photo which was advertised. Also there was no area for standing outside if it rained no cover at all. Also very noisy being down stairs can hear constant noises. The breakfast was good and the place is warm. It's clean but it's less then the pictures are discibing .

At first they seemed nice, but when we walked into the back in a dark (what seemed to be a garage or something, messy paper work everywhere) we just brushed it off and we regret not looking at the place before paying the remaining money. When she showed us around she pointed out all the faulty appliances that we shouldn't be using, she asked my husband if he was a handyman and how she gets some of her guest to help her 'fix' the place up. Even if my husband is a handyman we are on our anniversary getaway, we came there to relax not work. The handle of the sliding door (which is basically your main entrance) is broken and anyone can break in literally with a ruler, no security at all. When we saw the bathroom she told us that she took 3 light bulbs out and only left us with 1, when we asked why she replied "because guest leave the lights on when they go out". It was so dusty and dirty, when we rocked up the towels were on the oil heater cause they weren't dried and ready for us, the towel rack broke while she was showing us around. The bed sheets didn't look clean nor did they smell clean, we saw some bed bugs on the bed and this put us off straight away. We booked the Deluxe Suite with Spa Bath, there was no balcony or mountain view for us. I believe that as guest we deserve to have a clean, comfortable and secure environment to stay in especially when we are paying $320 a night. We didn't end up staying at any of the 2 nights that we booked, We were so disappointed and outraged so we just went back home. We did call and try to compromise to get half our money back but they didn't return any of our calls or messages Absolutely the worst way to end our anniversary getaway!!!!

Couldn't visit gardens or national parks - most closed due to damage from wild weather - however, normally these are lovely to visit. The villages along the Mt Dandenong Tourist Road can get quite crowded on weekends, so if you can visit during the week, it will be more peaceful. there are plenty of food options around, including some good 'country pubs'.
