Situated southeast of the Philippines, Palau is one of the world’s most renowned scuba diving spots. The Blue Corner is located less than an hour’s boat ride from most resorts and is undoubtedly Palau’s most popular dive site. This shark-tooth-shaped point extends out into the open ocean and is surrounded by the likes of barracudas and grey reef sharks. Due to Palau’s strong currents, most sites are recommended for more experienced divers. If scuba diving isn’t your thing, you can enjoy a spot of snorkelling at Long Island Park or Nikko Bay. Local operators also offer day trips to the Rock Islands which include kayaking tours. Palau caters for budget, mid-range and luxury stays, with a number of guest houses, hotels and high-end resorts scattered around. The bulk of properties is located on Koror Island.
