8 The tram was well worth the price.

The tram was well worth the price. We were very impressed with the running commentaries as we travelled, not only for the interesting content but because my hearing-impaired husband could hear it! The local bus ride was cheap and gave us a good overview of the town. It was easy to find good food. We were surprised that some places accepted only cash, not card. The maritime centre was good too and the information staff there very helpful. We enjoyed a walk around the gardens.

Location was terrific did not need to drive unless we went sight seeing! Great if your a coffee lover so many choices. View from bedroom was great and sunset was amazing. The apartment had a real homey feeling loved the indoor plants.

The foreshore is lovely and lots of parkland and walking tracks. Able to drive out along the breakwall, nice views. Cape Nelson lighthouse and wind farms interesting. Historic tram worth a ride! The Royal Hotel had good meals.

Eating out on public holidays, or any Monday, is very dicey. It seems the local eating places do not wish to cater for visitors on a public holidays. Those that do open are over whelmed. The Botanic Gardens are well worth a look ( it's dahlia time at present )

Motel was great so close to the restaurants and shops and the harbor was amazing watching yachts sailing and people fishing off the pier so much history and things to see would recommend visiting Portland and surrounding places of interest . Lots of good food opportunities in the good selection of eatery’s available .
